I started woodworking as a hobby after I retired. Little did I know that I would turn my hobby into a second career for next 20 years. I sold my woodworking business and have now started my third act, making custom boards for entertaining and food preparation.
Handcrafted
Each item I make is hand crafted and so there are no two pieces just a like. I hand select the materials and use a variety of domestic and imported hardwoods, including:
Paduk: A brilliant reddish-brown hardwood imported from Africa.
Zebrawood: A light tan, with strips reminiscent of a zebra, imported from Central America.
Purpleheart: A purple-brown hardwood grown in the Eastern U.S.
Maple: A whitish-blond hardwood from Northeastern U.S.
Cherry: A pinkish-tan hardwood from Eastern U.S.
Care
Every item I make is designed to provide functionality, but more important, be an elegant piece of craftsmanship. All boards are hand finished with several costs of food-safe mineral oil and bees wax. I provide tips and oils to help preserve the look of the wood. This will maintain the appearance and longevity in the wood.
